The White Stripes are back in town, and as a special treat, they will be performing a live session from the Maida Vale Studios on Wednesday the 9th of November in Jo Whiley's Live Lounge.
As if that's not enough, Jo Whiley will be running a competition to give away 35 fans a chance to see The White Stripes play a half hour set LIVE @ Maida Vale! The competition will be announced on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge on Monday the 7th of November between 10-12.45pm on Radio1 97-99fm.

Meg White: Meg White does a movie soundtrack
Earning her film stripes
*Meg White makes the leap to soundtrack work in a film directed by Bob Odenkirk.
Odenkirk's appreciation of White's drumming came to mind when he was looking for a sound to accompany the swaggering nature of a character in the upcoming movie "You Are Going to Prison," which he directed. So he and score composer Alan Elliott flew to Detroit in early October to record White in what was a completely new context for her.
"She gets into her zone and she's like a train, just starts rolling," says Elliott. "There was a time Bob came into the room and tried to get her to do something and couldn't get her attention. She was in a trance, and it's really powerful stuff when you're sitting right next to it — Jack or no Jack."
Meg White, who rarely utters a word in public, declined to be interviewed about the project.
Plans are for White's unaccompanied drumming to serve as the theme music for a character played by Dax Shepard. The movie also stars Will Arnett ("Arrested Development") and Chi McBride ("Boston Public").
For Meg we thought of the character. He's got a certain swagger, and Bob and I were talking about it and he said, 'It's kind of a White Stripe, Meg White kind of thing. So we went after Meg, and she said yes."

album/single release: 'walking with a ghost' cover to be on radio, iTunes and a new EP
according to fmqb.com the Stripes have covered Tegan And Sara's "Walking With A Ghost" for an upcoming EP release.
and the Tegan and Sara website reports The White Stripes have recorded a version of Tegan and Sara's Walking with a Ghost and will be releasing it to radio this week. The track will be available through iTunes on Nov 14 and at US retail as part of a special single release on Dec 6.

SIRIUS Satellite radio will be broadcasting a commercial-free White Stripes concert on Devil's Night!
Sunday, October 30 at 11 p.m. ET, SIRIUS will exclusively broadcast Devil's Night with The White Stripes on commercial-free music channel Left Of Center channel 26.
The White Stripes concert was recorded during their three-night stint Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at Masonic Temple in the duo's hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
